Seth's Story

Seth
Age 8
Palmetto Health Children's Hospital
Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ALL)

“Go fish.” With that simple command, Seth drops a pill into his water-filled mouth, which he refers to as a “pond.” Learning how to take life-saving pills at 4 years old is not easy, but for Seth it was mandatory.

Seth’s creative imagination and witty spirit are just a few of the things that helped him float above his 1,072-day leukemia treatment and months of IV feedings. With the help of his family, especially his little sister, Seth was able to get through the treatment and can now frequently do one of his favorite things—eat, without an IV.

Though Seth’s leukemia was challenging and at times very painful, he did not let his diagnosis rule his life. Seth chose to smile through his rigorous treatments and physical therapy as he relearned how to walk and run.

Now with rough waters behind him, Seth zealously moves through life—running, eating, laughing and loving every minute of it.
